If your trying to be healthier then burgers aren't usually an option but I have come up with a healthier alternative to your traditional meat and cheese burger. By replacing the meat patty with a giant mushroom not only does it cut down the calorie count significantly but it's also a lot healthier for you! Keep reading to find out how to make this delicious healthy burger!
There are only 365 calories in one whole mushroom burger while there are 550 calories in a McDonalds Quarter Pounder. Clearly making your own burger cuts down calories and using mushrooms as a meat replacement is so much healthier.
Ingredients & Calories:
Bread roll- 201
Mushroom- 25
Spinach leaves- 10
Cucumber- 8
Zucchini-15
Cheese slice-51
Avocado-40
Tomato-10
Mayo-15
=365 calories
Step 1:
Thinly slice zucchini and place the slices on a baking tray, add some chips to have on the side.
Step 2:
Wash, peel and de-stem your mushrooms,
then fry them for 3 minutes per side or until brown.
Step 3:
Cut your bread roll in half and then toast both sides using a sandwich press.
Step 4:
Placing cold ingredients on one half of the bread roll and cooked ingredients on the other half, place the cheese and spread the avocado.
Step 5:
Melt the cheese and place tomato on top of the avocado.
Step 6:
Add your mushroom on top of the cheese and spinach leaves on top of the tomato.
Step 7:
Top your mushroom side with zucchini and mayo then add cucumber, salt and pepper to the salad side.
Step 8:
Assemble your burger together, add chips and tomato sauce on the side.
